Created by DC Comics artist Alex Ross, Mythology: Batman is the companion piece to Mythology: Superman, which was released in November 2003.   As Ross did with Mythology: Superman, in this piece he renders Batman in a dramatic pose that brings the Dark Knight up front and personal to the viewer.   This image was featured on the back cover of Mythology: The DC Comics Art of Alex Ross.   Ross’ Mythology: Batman is given added strength with the artwork’s black background. Whereas in Mythology: Superman, small rays of light penetrating the Man of Steel, gave him a heroic appearance, in Mythology: Batman, we gain further insight to Batman being an anti-hero.   Each piece in the Mythology: Batman edition is hand signed by Alex Ross.
